Ambassador Catalina (she/her)

March 2024-March 2025

Catalina Stewart is a first generation Chilean American who moved to Winston Salem, NC in the mid 1990s. She graduated from Parkland High School in 2004. After graduation, Catalina discovered that she had a passion for creative design and production, and most of her professional career has been in print and design consulting.

Catalina enjoys connecting with people, hearing their stories, and collaborating to bring their ideas to life.

 After her path brought her to the print shop working for the City of Winston Salem, Catalina dove head first into various city programs, including City of Winston Salem University in 2022. In 2023, Catalina began working for the City of Winston Salem’s Marketing and Communications Department, assisting with city events such as ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, parades, and as  support for her department for various projects to inform the residents of current events in local government. Catalina is an active participant in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team, attending workshops and meetings to stay current on the DEI topics.

Having the opportunity to serve as a Winston-Salem ambassador is a dream come true for Catalina, as she is passionate about community building and enjoys giving back in meaningful ways. “The mission, vision, and values of the Winston-Salem Ambassadors align perfectly with my personal beliefs of fostering a welcoming and inclusive city for all. I want everyone to be excited and proud to live here, it’s a beautiful place full of possibilities!”

In her personal time, Catalina enjoys spending time with her two children and her dachshund. She also enjoys attending art shows, film festivals, live shows and concerts. Catalina is also a member of the Hispanic League and Bookmarks, where she volunteers her time.

Recently, Catalina has co-chaired an Arts Council Campaign to raise awareness of the various programs the Arts Council provides. In her free time, she is usually playing Mario Kart or Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch.
